Lakeview High School Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony – September 19, 2025 The Lakeview Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Black Box Theatre, located inside Lakeview High School. The event is free and open to the public. Social time to meet the inductees will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the ceremony and presentation of inductees starting at 5:00 p.m. This year marks the 25th Hall of Fame class at Lakeview High School. Including this year’s inductees, the Lakeview Athletic Hall of Fame now honors 137 former athletes and 10 coaches. Please join us as we celebrate the achievements of our outstanding athletes. 2025 Inductees Sarita Dotson – Class of 2013 One of Lakeview’s most accomplished track stars, Sarita Dotson was a four-year varsity standout. She earned nine City and Conference Championships, was a four-time All-Region Champion, and a four-time All-State honoree. Sarita also collected Rookie of the Year, Best Competitor, and was twice named her team’s MVP. After Lakeview, Sarita competed at Western Michigan University, where she continued her remarkable career. She served as team captain, was a three-time 4x400m Relay MAC Champion, and earned multiple All-MAC honors. She also won championships in the 100m Dash at Eastern Michigan University, the 200m Dash twice at Ball State, and the 60m Dash at Ball State. Additionally, she was the MAC Conference 200m Indoor Champion. Donnie Ernsberger – Class of 2014 Donnie Ernsberger was a standout multi-sport athlete at LHS, earning three varsity letters in Football, where he was team captain, three-time team MVP, a two-time All-City and All-Conference performer, and All-State Special Mention honoree. He finished his high school career tied for the school record for most TDs in a game (5). Donnie also excelled in Track, earning three varsity letters, team captain, MVP, two-time City Champion in 100m Hurdles and Shot Put, and Conference Champion in Shot Put. In Basketball, he earned three varsity letters and accolades including All-City and All-Conference. Donnie concluded his LHS career as the Battle Creek Enquirer Male Athlete of the Year. After high school, Donnie played four years of football at Western Michigan University, earning 2nd Team All-MAC Offense and two-time 3rd Team All-MAC honors. He later played in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans. Matt Garland – Class of 2013 Matt Garland ranks among Lakeview’s best golfers. He was All-City and All-Conference four times, All-State twice, and a MIGCA Super Team member. Matt earned his team’s MVP in 2012, was Individual Div. 1 State Champion, and led his state runners-up team in scoring. Matt continued his golf career at Northwood University, earning two-time Academic All-American and All-Conference honors. He was the Individual NCAA Regional Champion in 2016 and Northwood Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2017. He has also won the Calhoun County Amateur three times. Danielle Little – Class of 2013 Danielle Little excelled in golf, earning four varsity letters, serving as three-time team captain, and receiving team MVP honors. She was All-City and All-Conference all four years, two-time City Champion and Conference Individual Champion, and Regional Co-Medalist in 2013. Danielle also earned All-State and All-State Honorable Mention recognitions and set LHS records for most rounds in the 70s (8) and career scoring (42.4). Danielle continued her golfing career at Northwood University, achieving individual medalist honors at major tournaments, All-Conference recognition, and setting the school’s record for lowest 36-hole score (146). Brooke Rowe – Class of 2014 Brooke Rowe dominated in swimming and is recognized as one of Lakeview’s greatest swimmers. During her four-year varsity career, she earned ten-time All-City Champion, six-time Conference Champion, five-time All-State honoree, and two-time All-Conference recognition. In 2013, she became State Champion in the 100 yd Breaststroke and set three LHS school records. She also received the Lakeview School Board “Knowledgeable Healthy Citizens” Award. Brooke continued her swimming career at Eastern Michigan University, placing third at the MAC Conference Championships in the 200 yd Breaststroke.
